Welcome to the Department of Chemistry Safety Orientation page for Supervisors!

Before starting lab work all new staff, faculty, students, visiting researchers and volunteers are required to complete online training and an in-class safety orientation. Please complete Modules 1 through 4 to ensure you are authorized to begin laboratory work.

This Canvas course is for anyone who is in a Supervisory role. This includes individuals such as TAs, RAs, visiting researchers who may be supervising others, etc.

The University of Alberta, its buildings, labs and research stations are primarily located on the territory of the Néhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Nakoda (Stoney), Dene, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) and Anishinaabe (Ojibway/ Saulteaux), lands that are now known as part of Treaties 6, 7 and 8 and homeland of the Métis.
